Our speech and drama curriculum is based on 30 years of work by Dean Carey and the approach he devised to make ACA one of the world’s most prestigious theatre schools. It encompasses foundational acting techniques, storytelling, imagination, improvisation and experiences of empathy, understanding and positive reinforcement.
In a nutshell, our curriculum will:
Boost confidence
Boost Creativity
Foster Connectedness
Inspire Invention and Fresh Thinking
Strengthen Coordination Skills
Increase Understanding of the Self in Connection to the World

Every activity and principle in our curriculum rests upon three pillars: Confidence, Creativity and Collaboration. With these three aspects integrated into every class, your child will experience all of the components essential for growth.
Actors Centre Australia and MindChamps have combined our care, knowledge and expertise to create the richest atmosphere for your child to find his/her feet, claim his/her voice and simply shine.
Confidence is a vital attribute for life. By developing 100% respect for themselves and everyone around them, our children acquire a solid and productive foundation for interacting confidently with the world.
As the world reinvents itself, our children have to be ready to do the same – and reinvention requires a high level of creativity. We harness your child’s creativity through engaging activities and exploration, as well as by building confident self-expression.
The latest psychological research shows that training in theatre enhances one’s EQ by increasing empathy, social emotional control and the ability to connect meaningfully with others. In our Champion Mindset Theatre programme, we draw upon the unique power of theatre to build the whole person by nurturing your child’s inner emotional development.
Our Champion Mindset Theatre programme is offered at three levels – nursery, kindergarten and primary. Each level features activities designed to bring out your child’s inner Champion at different stages of his/her life.

Unlike many other speech and drama programmes in Singapore, Champion Mindset Theatre is not conducted with a strict examination-based curriculum. Our curriculum has a more holistic and organic approach, which focuses on the journey of “becoming” throughout the acting process. We concentrate on developing the key areas of Confidence, Creativity and Collaboration through “hands on” and experiential activities, allowing your child to truly “become” different characters, objects and emotions in each and every lesson.
You are more than welcome to approach your child’s trainer at any point in the term to gather feedback about your child’s progress.
At the end of each term (in lesson 10), your child will also share what he/she has achieved with family and friends in a short presentation/performance. This is when you will get to witness your child’s development first-hand.
Finally, your child will receive an official Champion Mindset Theatre Certificate of Achievement signed by ACA Patron Hugh Jackman, ACA CEO Dean Carey and MindChamps Founder CEO & Executive Chairman David Chiem after the completion of each term.
No, as Champion Mindset Theatre is not an academically oriented programme. Many parents come in with an expectation of what they’d like their child to get out of the programme. If you have certain expectations as well, we encourage you to share them with us so that we can work together to bring out the best in your child.
Absolutely! He/she will become more confident, expressive, focused, connected and engaged, although we always encourage our students to complete a full year at each level.
The Champion Mindset Theatre programme equips our students with some of the tools and skills needed to learn the art of acting, such as characterisation techniques, emotional control and vocal projection. All of the skills taught in a particular term are showcased in the lesson 10 presentations. With each and every term, your child will continue to grow and blossom.
The skills your child picks up during the programme will give him/her an advantage in situations that require public speaking and/or social interaction. As all school subjects require students to give presentations and carry out group work, these are the moments where your child can demonstrate what he/she has learnt.
Handouts will be provided after each lesson, so you will be able to keep track of what was taught. In each handout, there will be optional home tasks to help strengthen your child’s understanding in class. Think of it as bringing the fun home rather than homework per se!
