The March holidays are a great time to consolidate progress and prepare for the next school term, so why not maintain your P3 – P6 child’s momentum with our Primary Success Workshops? These workshops are designed to enhance and polish skills that are taught in school, deepen your child’s conceptual understanding and foster collaborative skills through group or pair work.

Offered in English, Maths, Science and Chinese, our Primary Success Workshops are conducted separately at the P3 – P4 and P5 – P6 levels.

You’ll be invited to join the last 15 minutes of the workshop for a short presentation by the trainer, who will be sharing more about what your child has been learning.

Based on the theme of Great Explorers, students will learn about strategies for answering the different types of comprehension questions tested in the Comprehension Open-Ended section of the exams.

By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:

  • Identify the main idea(s) in the text
  • Identify specific details
  • Recognise cause and effect
  • Make inferences and predictions based on information in the text
Maths

In this workshop, your child will:

  • Explore and learn 4 different types of ‘Pattern’ questions
  • Develop thinking, visualisation and application skills through a mathematical approach to solve ‘Pattern’ questions
  • Build confidence and foster an interest in mathematics through concept formation activities
  • Use manipulatives to concretise problem sums
  • Brainstorm and discuss in pairs/groups on how to solve problem sums
Science
  • Identify a force as a push or a pull
  • Recognise that friction is a force that opposes motion
  • Recognise that friction can occur between air and another material (air resistance)
  • Recognise that friction can occur between water and another material (water resistance)
  • Explore the relationship between the exposed surface area of an object and the air resistance acting on it
