29 October 2010 – Founder, Chairman and Group CEO of MindChamps, Mr David Chiem was
awarded the Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2nd Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards.
The Outstanding Entrepreneurship Awards are given to leaders of businesses which brought in at least US$10 million in revenues over the last three financial years. The winners are owner-managers, founders of the business with at least 20 per cent ownership of the company’s equity or CEOs for the past three years. “It is a general perception that one becomes an entrepreneur to only make money. Personally, the thing that truly drives me is to make a difference to the lives of young people and their families,“ said Mr Chiem. The Outstanding Entrepreneur Award is another feather in the cap for Mr Chiem; he won the
Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Rotary Club/Association of Small and Medium Enterprises) in
2008 while MindChamps won Rising Star Brand 2008 (International brand valuation firm Brand Finance), Promising Brand 2008 (Singapore Prestige Brand Awards) and MindChamps PreSchool won Promising Franchisor 2009 (Franchising & Licensing Association of Singapore).
