MindChamps achieved yet another milestone with the Grand Opening of MindChamps PreSchool @ Punggol Northshore.
At the opening were Guests of Honour Dr Janil Puthucheary (Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information and Ministry of Education, and MP of Punggol Coast; and Mrs Carmee Lim, Mentor Principal and Member of the World Advisory Board at MindChamps Holdings.
Located within Marina Country Club, Punggol Northshore is the largest MindChamps PreSchool to date, spanning 15,000 sqft across spacious classrooms and outstanding facilities catering to 140 students.
The MindChamps PreSchool brand is synonymous with cutting edge curriculum based on a 2036 model of education, a model which addresses the question of what will the world of 2036 look like for the children of today and how can we prepare them for that world? As the Founder, Chairman and CEO of MindChamps David Chiem commented:
“It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child, and this is important as I believe a pre-school setting can provide a child with their first contact with the wider community, offering insights beyond the learning environment.
If we couple this experience, with our 2036 model of education and bring this to the children of Punggol, we give them the opportunity to experience MindChamps’ unique research-based curriculum, while developing the foundations of Champion Mindset. This has to be a great way for our Young Champ’s to begin life’s journey.”
MindChamps Punggol Centre Manager Ms Joyce Chen in her opening remarks thanked all the Champion pioneer parents for their support and encouragement and offered that with their support they are building a ‘happy united community’ where teachers enjoy their teaching, Champs enjoy their learning and parents enjoy their parenthood.’
Dr Janil, praised MindChamps for coming to Punggol and for providing a valuable service to the residents who have been looking forward to this PreSchool for some time. Dr Janil echoed the sentiments of Ms Joyce as he went on to say that for children coming to a PreSchool, is the first step towards becoming a part of a community.
To further support community awareness, it was announced by Dr Janil that a new community centre, Punggol Vista Community Centre will be built with a large library and have a focus on early childhood books and resources.
To help raise funds for the new Community Centre, MindChamps students at Punggol will be donating a series of small tiles painted by the students and their parents to be on permanent display at the new Community Centre.
Ms Chen went on to say; “At any MindChamps Preschool, we are combining learning experiences and structured play in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. We are preparing our Young Champs for their future and we believe that a sense of community plays an important role in the development of their feelings of belonging and security.”
