Located near MindChamps PreSchool @ Nordcom II in Sembawang, Diggersite @ Orto is a secured space where children can gain valuable knowledge about construction sites and the equipment used. In addition to taking in the fresh air at the open-air compound, children can manoeuvre the construction equipment which are scaled down but very much functional! There is a total of seven construction zones, each with its own machinery and assigned task.

Children will marvel at the machinery which includes tower cranes, hydraulic excavators and even wrecking balls for them to knock over some bottles. Though it is a scaled down version of a construction site, safety is taken into consideration and there are child-sized helmets, vests and an instructor will be on hand to guide the children.

Although nutritious food is served in kindergartens in Singapore, the view at Beaulieu House is unbeatable. Beaulieu House is a century-old colonial building with its origin as the seaside house of the Davids, a Jewish family in the mining business. After the war, British naval officers and their families continued to reside in it until the restaurant took over in 1979.

Now an award-winning restaurant with glowing reviews on travel sites, Beaulieu House specialises in Western and Chinese cuisine. You can have braised oxtail with traditional red wine sauce or soft-shell crab either inside the restaurant or in the al-fresco area with a view of the seaside.

Address: 117 Beaulieu Rd, Singapore 759837

Opening Hours:
Monday – Sunday: 11am till 2.30pm, 6pm till 11pm

What’s so special about this playground that makes it a must-visit for your child after ending preschool in Sembawang? The entire design of the 185 square metre playground is the collaborative effort of 1,800 Canberra residents, with 150 residents chipping in to build it.

Heavily inspired by the kelong, or fishing jetty, the brown poles resemble stilts and there are ropes and nets that remind one of fishing nets. The main attraction is a climbing feature that was incorporated as the children wanted a treehouse in the compound.

Have a swinging good time in this playground with a large variety of swings. Most importantly, this playground is catered to children with special needs. There are plenty of wheelchair-friendly features such as ramps, handrails and special swings to secure wheelchairs on. Panels with bells and drums let visually handicapped children join in the fun.
