Experts have agreed that children learn best when parents and the school work together to support them throughout the journey.
Like you, your child’s teachers have their best interest at heart – and apart from yourself, they are the ones who spend the most time with your child.
When it comes to reinforcing what your child has learnt in school, the teachers would be the best person to give you insights on your child’s progress in class and to offer suggestions on supplementing the lessons with activities that can be done at home.
This was what the team at MindChamps PreSchool @ Zhongshan Park had in mind, when they organised a tea session with the parents of their preschoolers recently.
Read on to find out how parents benefitted from the tea session at MindChamps PreSchool @ Zhongshan Park.
Tea session with the parents
During their communication with the parents, one key area that is often brought up to the teachers relates to how the children are doing during lesson time – and what could parents do with their kids to complement what was taught in class.
Apart from giving parents the opportunity to meet and catch up with the teachers over a casual tea session, the teachers at MindChamps PreSchool @ Zhongshan Park also organised an activity where parents could “sit in” with their children for a special learning experience.
Under the guidance of our teachers, parents were given a taste of their children’s lessons in preschool. These include activities such as story-telling, sensory painting, and art and craft. Parents also picked up first-hand tips from the teachers on how to integrate what was taught in the classroom into the children’s daily activities.
Judging from the happy smiles on the faces of the children and their parents, it looks like it was an afternoon well-spent.
A big thank you to all parents for taking time off after work to join us in this session!
For those who missed out on this session, fret not – there will be ample opportunities to catch up during our next parent-child bonding events organised by the preschool. We hope to see you then.
