5 Parent-Recommended Places to Explore After Preschool in Woodlands

February 21, 2019

The north of Singapore is generally perceived as being quiet and laid-back, with nothing much to do or nice places to visit.

But did you know there are numerous parks, cafes and even petting zoos that you can visit with your children after preschool in the Woodlands area? You can also use these places to extend your kid’s learning beyond the walls of their childcare centres or kindergartens.

Home to the longest recreational jetty in Singapore, this park not only offers a view of the Johor Strait but jogging and cycling trails in the 11-hectare park.

You can try your hand at fishing here or have a picnic after a busy day at preschool in Woodlands. The cycling trail here also features a range of slopes that will keep the older children excited. For adventurous kids, the playground has a two-storey high crow net bridge called the Sky Walk.

After a fun afternoon out, you can head to Rasa Istimewa Woodlands Waterfront Restaurant for some comfort food.

This sanctuary hosts over 11 types of birds, including the exotic Marabou Stork. The birds roam free, so visitors can have fun feeding and observing them. Besides birds, the Animal Resort is also home to a variety of four-legged friends like a retired racehorse, rabbits and guinea pigs.

Admission is free and food for the animals is available for a nominal fee, so you could easily spend half a day here relaxing with your kids.
