No one really knows. With industries constantly being disrupted and transformed, the ingredients for success 20 years down the road might not even exist today.
However, what we do know is that navigating an uncertain world will always be less daunting with certain intangible qualities and mindsets. Qualities such as being creative, adaptable, flexible and being able to think out-of-the-box. Mindsets that will drive the creation of new solutions to new problems. Such traits will remain relevant and valuable regardless of the path that your child chooses to take in the future.
The performing arts provide the perfect platform to help your child develop these skills, qualities and mindsets in a fun and enjoyable way.
Nurture a Flexible and Creative Mindset
By exploring a variety of performing arts disciplines, your child will learn to think creatively and flexibly. This will not only build your young one’s ability to perform complex tasks simultaneously, but also develop his/her powers of self-expression.

The academic curriculum taught at MindChamps Performing Arts PreSchool is exactly the same as that taught at other MindChamps PreSchools. Your child will not experience any reduction in the level of preparation or skills-building he/she receives.
What is different, however, are the specialist modules in Drama, Dance, Music and Singing. These will replace some of our existing enrichment modules and have been fully integrated with the academic curriculum to deepen your child’s understanding in all areas.
The performing arts refer to creative activities performed in front of an audience, such as singing, dancing, acting or playing an instrument.
Every culture in the world and across history has its own unique forms of the performing arts. Entire countries and races derive their identities from one or more performing arts forms.
Almost every kind of entertainment we have is related to the performing arts, from the National Day Parade and our favourite TV shows to Zumba and karaoke.
Research has proven that the benefits of participating in performing arts programmes are valuable and numerous. A 2004 study by University of Toronto psychology professor Glenn Schellenberg, for example, showed that the IQs of 6-year-olds increased by three points after a year of music training.
Exposure to the performing arts has also been linked to improvements in areas such as emotional control, linguistic expression, fine motor skills and numeracy, reaping enormous rewards for the development of a child’s whole brain.
It’s time to let go of the misconception that the performing arts are useful only for those considering a long-term career as a performer or artist – your child has much to benefit from as well!
Your child will be taught by full-time performing arts educators who will build a nuanced understanding of the elements of performance, opening doors for him/her to further develop his/her talents in the future.
These specialist teachers have training in their respective art forms as well as relevant teaching experience in working with young children.
Your child will need a dance outfit and, depending on his/her level, either one or two kinds of recorder. From 2021 onwards, K1 & K2 Champs will also need to have their own violin.
We have partnered with Yamaha to provide the most affordable rates and highest-quality instruments for all of our Champs.
Your child will be assessed termly according to a rubric based on the 5Cs – Collaboration, Creativity, Confidence, Communication and the Champion Mindset. Each of these traits represents a life skill that will serve your child well in situations throughout his/her life.
Progress will be pegged to age-appropriate outcomes for each level from PG to K2, which teachers will assess based on their observations across the whole term.
