“You will never have this day again so make it count!”
These are the words that MindChamps PreSchool @ Changi Business Park lives by and thus, they try to make each child’s day as exciting and fruitful as possible.
Here is a brief rundown of the activities a Kindergarten 2 preschooler at our Changi Business park centre goes through on a typical day.
Starting the day off with a healthy breakfast
Once the children are all safely dropped off, they will be served a nutritious breakfast at 830am. Mealtimes are also opportunities for them to interact with each other. They often share what they did the day before or any plans after school.
Enrichment activities at MindChamps @ Changi Business Park
After a hearty meal, the children start their enrichment activities.
On Mondays, the day starts with NeuroMooves™ classes. Here, they will enhance their fine and gross motor skills through climbing, running and tumbling. They usually participate in fun games such as Obstacle Courses and Parachute Play.
Outdoor Play where curiosity is encouraged
Outdoor time typically happens from 10.00am to 10.30am daily. The children will take this time to soak in Vitamin D and engage with their peers in free play. This builds good motor and social skills in them.
Outdoor activities vary daily to keep the children interested – sometimes it’s ball games and other times it could be pretending to be police officers on tricycles! From 1030am to 1230pm, they will engage in “Enquiry Teaching & Learning”, where they will have opportunities to go for Nature Walks. Through this nature walk, their observational skills will be honed as they look at their surroundings and bring their findings back to class.

MindChamps Reading and Writing
On Tuesdays, the children will participate in the MindChamps Reading and Writing programme. They learn the different grammatical functions and commonly-used words by reading along.
The children are also exposed to different types of writing activities such as sentence construction, journal writing and creating web ideas.
Lunchtime and being taught responsibility
The children will then have lunch from 1230pm to 1pm. The meals are well-proportioned and aim to teach themthe proper servings of vegetable, meat and carbohydrates. They are also in charge of cleaning up after themselves when they are done.
Before their nap, the children are taught good hygiene with a round of teeth-brushing and showering. Then, they recharge from 130pm to 245pm by taking a quick power nap.
Love for Chinese Language
Once they are up and re-energised, the K2 children will immerse themselves in Chinese Language lessons from 330pm to 530pm. They will learn phrases through fun ways like games, stories and drama. Lessons have been incorporated into music and art to encourage a love for the language. Songs are often incorporated into lessons to encourage the retaining of information as well.
Winding down and learning through play
Finally, the children will be free to engage in play for the remainder of the day. This is a time for them to relax and have fun with their friends. Free play is essential in building social skills and encouraging their imagination.

Activities are organised to teach them how to work cooperatively with their peers and harness their knowledge in the process. All this comes together to bring them to greater heights and to reach their full potential.
